Why do we not count calories (or kilojoules) following the Liviya plans?
Many eating plans/diets recommend counting calories because if you eat more calories than you use, you will put on weight and therefore if you eat fewer calories than what you use daily, you will lose weight. While this method produces results in the short-term, it doesn’t in the long run.
There are many reasons for this, but the most important reasons to us are as follows:
- Calories are not created equally – meaning that you can eat a sugary treat that contains the same number of Calories as a healthy lunch, but your body will respond very negatively to the sugary treat and positively to the healthy lunch.
- “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” ~ Hippocrates. It is vitally important to your health and wellbeing that you learn about nutrients in the food that you eat so that you can understand what makes your body function optimally and what makes you ill.
Here’s how it works:
- A palm-size portion of protein = 1 portion of protein
- A cupped hand size portion of carbohydrate = 1 portion of carbohydrate
- Eat about 3 fruits a day
- Eat plenty of vegetables every day (note: potato and corn are considered carbohydrates as they are starchy vegetables)
We will teach you how to achieve the right balance of nutrients that your body requires for optimal health and vitality
What makes the Liviya’s programme different to all the other health and fitness programmes out there?”

All you will need is a yoga mat and a resistance band to do our resistance exercises at home or anywhere you choose to have a 20 minute workout. There will be days when you are required to do 20 to 30 minutes of cardio activity. This can be running, cycling, swimming, dancing or any other sporting activity that raises your heart rate.
Can I join the programme if I am pregnant? And what if I become pregnant during my 12 month membership?
Yes, you can join us and you can still continue while you are pregnant. It is important to continue your healthy lifestyle as usual after you have become pregnant. Do let us know if you are pregnant when you join and if you become pregnant while you are a member so that we can keep an eye on you.
